Kangaroo Island National Landscape
Below is a link to the draft Kangaroo Island National Landscape Strategic Tourism Plan.
Hard copies are also available in Kingscote at the Council, DEWNR and RDA offices and in Penneshaw at the Visitor Information Centre.
It has been prepared for the Kangaroo Island National Landscape Steering Committee and Tourism Kangaroo Island. Much of the 2006 Kangaroo Island Strategic Tourism Plan has already been achieved or initiated. This new Strategic Tourism Plan builds on that work but also focuses on the game-changers required to grow tourism on the Island over the next 5 to 10 years.
We appreciate many aspects of tourism growth impact other parts of the community and Island businesses and are keen to seek wide input into this draft Plan.
We are seeking your input to help us finalise the Plan. Submissions are due COB 13 May 2013.
A series of consultation sessions will be held on Kangaroo Island on 7-8th May to gather input and discuss the draft. These include a open house/drop in sessions to discuss the paper or ask questions of the consultant between 10-12 and 2-4pm at Natural Resources Centre (Aquarium room), 37 Dauncey St, Kingscote, 8 May 2013. No bookings are required for these.
If you wish to have a one-on-one time separately with the consultant over the 7-8 May, please contact her directly on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange it.
The development of this draft Plan has been supported and led by a Project Control Group consisting of Tourism Kangaroo Island, South Australia Tourism Commission, Kangaroo Island Futures Authority, Department of Environment Water and Natural Resources, Kangaroo Island Council and Regional Development Australia. Funding has been provided by these organisations and the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, through its Strategic Tourism Investment Grant (STIG) Program (under the T-QUAL Grants Program).
