Kingscote
Big Quince, located facing the wharf in Kingscote, is a welcoming and well-stocked independent bookshop. Find a holiday read or a thoughtful gift while enjoying a locally roasted coffee or blended tea.
There’s something for everyone - fiction, non-fiction, books about Kangaroo Island and plenty of activities and stories for kids. Island-made soaps, candles and cards mix with other eclectic and stylish gifts. There are comfortable armchairs, and some days, a friendly shop dog eager to say hello!
With a view of Australia across the backstairs passage, sit on the deck under an umbrella and enjoy the coastal ambience of this harbourside town.
Big Quince is cosy in winter and refreshingly cool in summer; if the Island's weather is having a bad day, hunker down in the local bookshop and plan the rest of your trip.
They serve a range of snacks, all coeliac-friendly, as well as juices and cool drinks.
There's plenty of parking nearby and friendly staff eager to make you feel welcome!
